AFP joins 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) participated in the conduct of the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, June 08 here at the General Headquarters.

AFP Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resources performed the Duck, Cover and Hold procedure at their respective units and offices. 

Col Baclor cedes public affairs chief post to LtCol Ileto

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--Col Jorry Baclor, the Chief of the Public Affairs Office AFP (PAOAFP), relinquished his post to LtCol Enrico Gil Ileto in a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony on June 8 at the General Headquarters here with The Deputy Chief of Staff AFP, LtGen Charlton Sean Gaerlan, as the presiding officer.

Col Baclor held the post since November 2021 and has since led the AFP’s public affairs campaigns in internal security operations, international defense and security engagements, humanitarian assistance and disaster response, and the AFP Transformation Roadmap and modernization program. 

AFP STATEMENT | On the Appointment of new DND Secretary

The AFP welcomes the appointment of Atty Gilbert Teodoro as the new Secretary of National Defense and commits its all-out support to the new leadership of the One Defense Team.
 
We believe that his decisive leadership, professional competence, and wealth of experience, highlighted by his previous assignment as the defense chief from 2007 to 2009, will help build upon our gains in the defense and security of the country.
 
The AFP also renders its snappiest salute to Senior Usec Carlito Galvez Jr., the outgoing DND Officer-in-Charge, for his inspiring and dedicated leadership in the Defense Department. Thank you for your service, Sir!

PH-AUS ‘KASANGGA’ closes phase 1, phase 2 starts 

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Philippine Army and the Australian Army concluded the first phase and likewise opened the second phase of the Philippine-Australia Army-to-Army Exercise “Kasangga” 23-2 at the Headquarters of 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division at Camp Capinpin in Tanay, Rizal on June 5. 

The exercise marks the AFP’s more robust international defense and security engagements with foreign military partners. Following the recent pronouncements of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the AFP ramped up its education and training engagements with other foreign militaries to foster trust and cooperation.
